busy

Hi Everyone,

I've been really busy the last 4 weeks - so much traveling and a whole lot of shows.  Not much time at home to relax and recharge, but I am almost through the stressful part.  As soon as the Showcase is over I will breathe normally again.

I'm nervous as usual so I'm fighting the urge to put my head in the sand and hide.

The CD is finally out.  I can hardly believe it after all we went through.  I’m so grateful for the wonderful response that we have been receiving.   I said it was a good ‘road trip’ CD and some of you are finding that out.  We are doing some press now but the main AC radio promotion won’t happen until after the Holidays.  It makes no sense to push it now when Christmas music pretty much wipes out everything else from November through December.

I've been performing a lot of Symphony dates lately and it has been fun to hear that big lush sound again.  Marvin Hamlish is always a blast to work with.  The guy knows how to entertain an audience.  He also knows where all the best restaurants are!

Last night we performed with the New Jersey Symphony and John Oddo conducted the whole night.  He was wonderful.  It was great to hear his arrangements.

I also enjoyed the fact that it is close to home and that I got to crawl into my own bed at 12:30am instead of the hotel rooms I have been imprisoned in for so much of the last month.  There were no good movies to watch!!

I was invited to see Louis Black on his last night at Town Hall.  He was so great as always and it was really interesting to see a show like that during a time of such economic meltdown and political campaigning.  The energy in the room was though the roof.

We are living in a strange time.  No doubt about that.  It’s frightening and fascinating at the same time.
