Back to Work

I've had several lovely weeks off from work, but Fall is officially here so it's time to "go back to school" !!

My first concert back was a TOSOM show and it was a blast.  The band is really starting to jell.  We have our showcase on the 22nd of October so that is a good thing.

In a few days I head to DC to sing with Marvin and the Orchestra.  Marvin wanted to celebrate the music of Judy Garland.  I'm flattered he asked me to be part of the evening.  I will be singing 20 minutes in the first half and 40 minutes in the second half.  This will be a three night event and then we have a five nighter in Pitsburgh!  Haven't done that in a while. It will be fun to hear these arrangements with a full orchestra again.  That's how most of them were conceived.

I have become a soccer mom again.  Jake is back at it.  I'm shamefully competetive so I have to stifle my remarks on the sidelines and try to keep telling myself  "it's just a game with 4th graders...it's just a game with 4th grader...it's  ...."   It doesn't really work.  :)

I'm grateful for the responses that I am getting on finding a home for Shadow.  It's so hard to let a horse go when you are not sure where he will end up.  So thank you.

Right now there are not enough hours in the day to get the things done that I want to get done before winter.  I am gone so much of October.  I hate that part of my life.  I wish I could just do "the blink" and magically apear on stage at show time and then blink back home to Jake and Apple Tree Farm.

Someone has to be here to let the meter man in.  He's afraid of my three shepherds.  Imagine that!

:)

I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying playing and singing TOSOM. I have been a fan of yours since 1995 but I've been away for awhile. I just got tickets today for the showcase in NYC. 4th row. I will be cheering you on and happy to see you in concert again after so many years. Have fun in DC and Pittsburgh. Oh, and as for wanting to "blink" and appear at your shows, have you tried wiggling your nose? :-)

This blog is a great idea - your fans will be thrilled for this opportunity to get a glimpse into your life. I also love the site redesign. Can't wait for your new release - I'm really looking forward to the new sound...although maybe it's really the original sound? Keep up the great work!

Hi Linda, I just signed up with ONE2ONE and decided to take a look at your blog. (unfortunately they are nessecary these days). I am excited to hear you sing. Reading the descriptions makes me think of John Denver for some reason. I Love him. (Tear) Anyway "Howdy from Nashville, and I hope you plan to play here one day. And can't wait for your album. Have a great weekend.

Hi Linda, "The Other Side of Me" is an excellent album. It is nice to see you showing everyone how versatile you really are. You are an amazing artist with an amazing voice & it is ever so present on this new album. I have been a fan of yours for years now & I am really enjoying this "Other Side" of you. I had the pleasure of first hearing this material during an intimate concert you held earlier in the year. I actually bought the concert tickets for my partner of 7 years("George") as an anniversary gift. He is the ULTIMATE Linda fan & is responsible for making me a Linda fanatic as well!!! We will be seeing you in concert this on Sunday, Oct. 5th at Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh PA. These tickets are actually a birthday gift for my partner. So we never have enough of you!!! You are truly an amazing & inspiring artist. That is something very rare & hard to find these days. As one of your songs indicate...Linda is "Gold". Stevie Wonder has a wonderful song titled "Stay Gold", which I wish & think you should do a cover of. The song actually appeared in one of my all time favorite movies, "The Outsiders". The lyrics are truly inspiring . Robert Frost also has a wonderful poem titled "Nothing Gold Can Stay" which was also written into the story for "The Outsiders. If you get the chance check out the movie "The Outsiders", the song & lyrics for Stevie Wonder's "Stay Gold" & the poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost. Again to me, you are "Gold" & you continue to "Stay Gold" inspiring others with your artistry while keeping that freshness, youthfulness & innocence. You also do amazing things for animals, which is very near & dear to my heart. I am a pet owner(two beautiful Golden Retrievers, Austin & Dallas , whom are also HUGE Eder fans by the way) & an animal lover in general. I appreciate & thank you for all you do with & for our animals. I think all of the songs on "The Other Side Of Me" are great, but the following are my absolute favorites: "Lifted", "If I Could", "Waiting For The Fall", "Both Sides Now", "They Are The Roses" & "Ghost". I think "Waiting For The Fall" would be an excellent choice for a single. I also think you should do some dance remixes for "Waiting For The Fall" like you did for "Vienna" & "I Am What I Am". I hear a club hit!!! I think you should do a fun dance video to go along with it as well. I think that particular song has a lot of youth appeal. Again, I truly recommend your music to everyone...this new album & actually all of your albums!!! I know there was a lot of speculation & criticism in regards to you doing the new music. I enjoy the music you are known for, but love the new stuff as well. I think as an artist you need to do this. I am an actor & singer myself & totally understand. Linda, thank you for entertaining us, inspiring us, changing & growing as an artist. You are truly an amazing & gifted lady. Stay "Gold" Linda...Stay "Gold"... Best Regards, Rodney Boyers boyroder@yahoo.com

Hello! I've only just discovered your music courtesy of the Complete Works of Jekyll and Hyde (you can thank my deep love of Anthony Warlow's voice for that!). I really loved you as Lucy and can't wait to listen to the rest of your catalogue. Happily, I see I'm in time for a new album! Thank you for an amazing introductory performance. Lucy has some amazing numbers and "It's A Dangerous Game" is fabulous song. With love, G.K
