THE OTHER SIDE OF ME 2008 Special Edition of THE VOICE is ready to accompany Linda on her latest adventure that will take her fans into the world of pop/country music with the eagerly anticipated release of her latest record! Linda's ever-loyal fans have tried extremely hard to be patient through what must have seemed like an eternity for the release of the new record, as well as for the newest edition of THE VOICE. Knowing that this edition was to serve as a companion to the record, your EDER-tors were just as anxious to release THE VOICE for your reading pleasure. In the months we have been waiting to bring this edition to you, we have been working very hard to make it extra special, and we know you won't be disappointed. You have been holding on to every little bit of news as to when this day would finally arrive. Well… now it's time to pull out all the stops and celebrate THE OTHER SIDE OF ME together with Linda, co-producer Billy Stein, the rest of the creative team, and the fabulous musicians who brought this new side of Linda to life on the record and in live performances. So saddle up and come along with us for what will surely be another wonderful Linda Eder ride, one filled with many amazing twists, turns, and stops along the way. Linda is very excited to have her fans come along for this ride with her.

As you read Linda's interview, you will know for sure that she is exactly where she wants to be right now in her life and in her career. Her words will leave you without a doubt that the making of her latest record was the fulfillment of her dream and passion and that her "leap of faith" into the genre of pop/country music is a very comfortable move for her. When you read about all that went into the recording of the songs for this record, what you will get is a glimpse into Linda's heart and soul. THE OTHER SIDE OF ME is Linda Eder.

He's back! Billy Stein, who many fans will remember as Linda's talented keyboardist in years past, co-produced THE OTHER SIDE OF ME with Linda. Billy and Linda have both described working together as a "perfect partnership," and the end result demonstrates the truth in that statement. As you read Billy's interview, you will get an idea of the work he has been involved in over the past four years since we first sat down with him. We discussed what was involved in making this new record with Linda and putting together The Other Side Of Me Show, as well as an insight into the business of making records today and getting the songs out there to be heard.

We are thrilled to be able to welcome the enormously talented singer/songwriter, Shaun Barker, to the Linda Eder family. Those of you who have already attended The Other Side Of Me Show have experienced first-hand the musical gifts Shaun has been blessed with and which he shares with Linda and the audience. In his in-depth interview, you will read about his career and the wonderful journey that brought Shaun to Linda and to her fans.

At long last, we celebrate the release of THE OTHER SIDE OF ME on Linda's new record label, Verve. The little clips fans can listen to on the message board have served as a great "teaser" and have created a wonderful sense of anticipation. We know you'll enjoy reading Linda's special "liner notes", which she has written to give her fans a little insight into each song she has chosen to record. The song credits demonstrate how widely Linda has branched out not only in the type of music she has chosen to record, but also in choosing her creative team. The time has come to celebrate Linda's latest musical gift to her fans!

To kick off The Other Side Of Me tour, Linda graciously invited her fans and friends to a Private Party in her hometown of North Salem, New York, and a grand time was had by all! It was an amazing experience for those who were lucky enough to be there. What the audience saw and heard was Linda Eder, the seasoned performer, taking her "first steps" in a new personal and musical journey backed by a new band. Reactions to this special, once-in-a-lifetime performance will give you an idea of what the evening was like through Linda's words as well as through the words and pictures of fans who were in attendance.

Linda always surrounds herself with the most phenomenally talented musicians, and she has done it again with The Other Side Of Me Band. This jammin' band includes some old faces as well as new ones, plus two wonderful background singers who complement Linda's voice perfectly. These musicians are among the best and most respected in the business.

The long and amazing career of Leslie Bricusse keeps him constantly on the move. In fact, our interview with him took place while he was in France. Leslie was more than happy to talk about his history with Linda, and you will learn that he is an "Eder Fan" too. His prolific career shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

In past editions of THE VOICE, we have included what we considered to be Linda's "best shots." Several fans have suggested to us over the past few years that it would be fun to include some "Funny Faces" pictures of Linda. Linda graciously said, "Go for it," so we have included these pictures sent to us by the fans as well as some of our own. Enjoy and don't miss your chance to continue in the fun with our new "Funny Faces Caption Contest!" Check out the Funny Faces page for more details.

Once again, we are pleased to include our fairly new and recurring page, FAN-tastic Feature. Trish Burns has done a phenomenal job of sharing her exciting journey to Feinstein's at the Regency for Linda's New Year's Eve show. As you read this feature, you will experience all the fun and excitement of this evening as if you were actually there. Great job, Trish!

Fan Corner is jam-packed, as always, with your photos and heartfelt messages to Linda. We know that Linda loves to read all your messages and she is always very touched and also humbled by them.

As EDER-tors of THE VOICE, it gives us great pleasure to give Linda's fans an update on the career of bass player extraordinaire and our friend, David Finck, at this exciting time in his career that is highlighted by the release of The David Finck Quartet's FUTURE DAY. As is noted on the Web site of Soundbrush Records, David "has developed into an impressive composer, arranger, and producer. FUTURE DAY (Soundbrush Records), his debut CD as a leader, is a superb 12-song set including compositions by Wayne Shorter ("Black Eyes"), Cedar Walton ("Firm Roots"), Joe Locke ("Appointment in Orvieto"), and the leader himself." This recording has received rave reviews, which is not surprising to those who have experienced David's talent first-hand at Linda's concerts as well as other performances across the country and around the world. One such review by Edward Blanco of EjazzNews.com states, "In all this is an album where the musicianship, excellent charts and a superb cast of players combine to make this disc one of the finest new releases of the year. An impressive debut for bassist David Finck and his quartet." We know jazz fans everywhere will love FUTURE DAY! For more information, please visit http://www.davidfinck.net and http://www.soundbrush.com.

In addition to recording and promoting FUTURE DAY, David has been very busy when not touring with Linda. He felt honored to have been chosen to play in the orchestra for the Pope's Mass at Yankee Stadium when he visited New York City, and this past summer, he worked in Europe and Israel. David has been busy producing and recording with many great performers including Carly Simon, George Michael, Christopher Cross, and BJ Thomas. He also produced another record for a jazz singer named Carol Fredette and is currently involved in producing a new record for Tom Wopat and Christy Baron. This month David was part of a 17-piece band accompanying Michael Feinstein at Feinstein's at Loews Regency to celebrate the release of Michael's latest record, SINATRA PROJECT. We wish David the best of luck with all his endeavors.

To Linda: It has been so enjoyable, as always, working with you on this edition of THE VOICE.
