Volume 7- Edition 2
Winter/Spring 2007

Fans Kelly Wolner and Annarose Foley before Linda's December 2006 Holiday Show at the Turning Stone Casino in New York State.

Linda's series of Christmas concerts around the country are always eagerly anticipated and very warmly received by her loyal fans as well as those who are new to her music, and the shows of 2006 proved to be no exception. THE VOICE received reviews from loyal fans and first-timers that we'd like to share with our readers. Annarose Foley has very kindly shared her photos taken at Turning Stone last December. Thank you, Annarose!

Nicholas Golden (one of Linda's youngest fans at five-years-old) shared his thoughts with his mom (Jaclyn Golden) after attending Linda's Christmas concert at Turning Stone.

MOMMY: Did you like going to Turning Stone in New York?

NICHOLAS: I liked the hotel a lot. Oh, and the Arcade!

MOMMY: Were you surprised to find out Linda was going to sing there?

NICHOLAS: Oh, yes! I didn't know she was there and I didn't know I would see her.

MOMMY: Were you surprised when Linda sang Christmas songs?

NICHOLAS: Oh, yeah! I really liked that. Oh, and I liked the Christmas trees on the stage.
Those were cool!

MOMMY: Do you think Linda should have trees on the stage all the time?

NICHOLAS: No. Well, maybe for Easter.

MOMMY: Did you like where you were sitting?

NICHOLAS: Yes! I was really, really, really close. I could put my head on the stage.

MOMMY: What did you like about the Christmas concert?

NICHOLAS: All the songs. Oh, and I liked when Linda waved to me and I waved back.

MOMMY: What did you think about that?

NICHOLAS: Remember, I said, 'Doesn't Linda know anyone else?'

Little Eder-fan Nicholas Golden and Linda

MOMMY: Do you think Linda is funny?

NICHOLAS: Yeah. I like when she laughs. She makes me laugh too, but I have to laugh quietly.

MOMMY: What songs did you like?

NICHOLAS: I liked when she sang 'he will bring us silver and gold' and 'rain on the parade.'

MOMMY: What was your favorite Christmas song?

NICHOLAS: 'Here Comes Santa Claus.' I love that one!

MOMMY: Why do you love that one?

NICHOLAS: Because I like how Linda sings it. I really like it. Oh, write 'really' ten times.

MOMMY: What do you like best about how Linda sings?

NICHOLAS: I like when she sings loud and long. But what if she didn't stop? Now, that
would have been a problem!

MOMMY:
Do you remember anything else about the concert?

NICHOLAS: I remember Linda was crying after one song and she said it was your fault
because you were looking at me when she was singing. (Mommy note - Linda was singing
'If I Could.')

Jonathan Hubert from Germany writes…

I am very often in the States for business trips and I always like to attend concerts and shows when I come there. In December I came to Hartford, Connecticut, for a week. After five days of working, they took us to a place called Mohegan Sun. There I heard a wonderful singer by the name of Linda Eder. Never did I ever hear a person sing like her before. The Christmas hymns were beautiful and went soaring up to the ceiling. When I was again home in Germany I tried to buy her CDs. I only found two so far but I will keep looking for more! Then I found this Web site so I write to you to say I love Linda Eder and I hope that one day she comes to Germany to sing for us here.

Margaret Schuler from New Jersey writes…

I had never written a fan letter in my whole life, but I had to write after I attended Linda's Christmas show at Lenape in December. I guess it is a little silly to start writing fan letters at my age (I turned 80 in November), but I just had to write. Until that evening, I had only heard Linda on her CDs that my son bought for me. Then he surprised me at my birthday dinner by telling me he was taking me to see Linda as part of my Christmas present. Needless to say, I was thrilled! Her Christmas CD is my favorite. I thought there was nobody who could sing my favorite Christmas songs better that Linda Eder. As much as I love the CD, hearing Linda in person is even better. She sang each song beautifully and I didn't want her ever to stop. The high school students were great too! It is hard for me to pick my favorite song from that night, but I think it would be "O Holy Night." That song always makes me cry and I cried when Linda sang it so beautifully. I think going to hear Linda Eder sing is the best Christmas present I have ever received. I already told my son that I want to go to hear Linda again if she comes to Lenape.

Pat and Dick Cooper from New Jersey write…

We just returned from our 4th Lenape show with Linda. As we have said before, we have no words. Each show seems better than the last. What can you say when the entire audience was on its feet over and over again? What can you say when the "object of our affection" has it all? Linda calls herself a "singer." She didn't mention that she is a caring, beautiful, intelligent, generous and gracious person, who, oh, yes, just happens to have a little talent! Linda sang a program from at least three albums, including every one of my wife's favorites. She then surprised us with "the Charlie Brown Christmas song." (Thank you, Craig!)

In the second half, she was joined by the Cherokee High School Concert Choir. (The Lenape venue is part of the high school.) The kids were truly great! They performed like real "pros." Kudos to the director! (I'm having a senior moment and can't remember his name.) He was able to prepare the choir in a very short time when a key piece of music never arrived and had to be faxed down to them. They learned it over the dinner break and just like true pros, performed it very well. The night was very special and a real Christmas present to all who were there. We are looking forward to the New Year with great enthusiasm! Thank you, Linda!

Robert Morgan from New York writes…

I attended Linda Eder's Christmas concert at Turning Stone for the third time. I just love her arrangements of my favorite Christmas songs. The year before she passed away, my wife was watching television and came upon Linda's special show on the Bravo channel. I was downstairs watching a sporting event (probably football) when she called down and told me I had to come upstairs and hear this wonderful singer. I didn't want to leave what I was watching, but she kept calling. Christmas was always our favorite holiday so I came up to hear what she was talking about and never left. Linda Eder, you are so amazing! The first time I saw you at Turning Stone, my wife was with me. You and your band are so wonderful. You make my holidays special, which is hard to do now that I can't share them with my wife. Thank you for sharing your talent with me.

Maggie Ryan from Connecticut writes…

I would like Linda to know how much my sister and I enjoyed her Christmas show at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. We had seen Linda perform once before with an ice skating show in Connecticut but had not seen her since. I think the Mohegan Sun Cabaret is a perfect place for Linda to perform. It is not too big, and we felt like she was singing just to us. Hearing her perform our favorite Christmas songs is something we won't soon forget. I will treasure this night for years to come!

Joe Matthews from New York writes…

I am writing to tell Linda how happy she made me in December when she came to Buffalo, New York. I have loved to hear Linda sing Christmas songs ever since I saw her on television a few years ago. I had never heard the name Linda Eder before that time, but I have always loved Christmas songs sung by a beautiful voice. Nobody has ever sung those songs better than Linda Eder. I play the Christmas CD all year long. I don't care if it's 90 degrees outside. That's how much these songs mean to me. To see Linda in person was a dream come true for me because I can't travel that far from home because of illness. Thank you for bringing an old man so much happiness.
